Santa's coming to town

I have just finished making this Santa that will be auctioned off for my Decorative Painting Chapter http://northwestfloridaseaoats.blogspot.com/. He is made with a beautiful red jacquard fabric with gold threads running through it. His beard and hair are made from real mohair (I actually buy this unwashed and boy does it stink when you wash it - smells like lanolin) and his fur is mink from an old mink stole. He is weighted to sit in a small chair or on a table. His face is handpainted and he is wearing glasses. He is 25" long, 15" high when sitting. I have been making this Santa for about fourteen years and just love him. One of these days I will actually make one for myself and keep him. I often make him from other fabrics such as moire and in other colors - pinks, blues, greens, etc.

  4. This is Cheri from Its So Very Cheri.

i don't know if you are the one who left me a message about the pumpkins but I am trying to get in touch. If you are the correct person-you may not know that your e-mail is blocked so I can't return your message without doing a search for you.

Those are all inspirational. I live in SW Florida and not a lot of choice down here.

  5. I am not sure which I like better, your Santas or your Roses!! I love your Santa and think he is adorable. How can you let him go? I am sure you bonded with him as you created this jolly creature. Some people create joy where ever they go.

  6. Hi,

Love the Santa. Just was wondering what you used for the head? Did you make it? I know you did the painting but was curious on what the head is made of? You do a great job on painting the faces. The eyes on the Santa look so real.
