Happy Pink Saturday

I can't believe I haven't posted since Christmas. I hope yall had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year will bring you all your heart desires. I am writing this weeks blog a little early so I can get it posted on Friday - I don't want to be late again for Pink Saturday. With that said, I wanted to share with you the artwork of some of my favorite artists. They each have fabulous stories to tell - but that will be another post. I love Frances Brundage and Maude Humphreys - they paint the cutest children, and Catherine Klien paints the softest roses, and Igor Levashov's roses - you feel as if you could pluck them right off the canvas, then there is Harrison Fisher - he painted hundreds of portraits and knew how to make each and every one of them beautiful. Their work can be seen in prints, postcards, greeting cards and advertisements. I love looking through my collection, you can't help but admire such wonderful talent. Do you recognize their work? Many of us use their art in some of the things we make - I have seen them on pillows, stockings, and altered art.

Please stop by Ms. Beverly's How Sweet the Sound and check out everyone's pink for this week. Back later - oh, the last painting is mine. I painted it in the eighties. She was the first "person" I attempted to paint - notice I didn't paint the face, I took the easy way out and did the side of the face only. She now resides in my sister's home in Pennsylvania. And did you notice there is no pink on her?? What was I thinking?? I will have to correct that the next one I paint. Til next week,
Brenda
