Change is Good...
I love Christmas but I can't always find just what I want. So I buy many things for their shape or for their base colors and then I whip out my paint brush and transform them into something special. This little Santa was very pretty with his dark red coat but he didn't have much else going for him. Now, after meeting up with my trusty paint brush, he has personality. Soft pink roses on his coat and one in his beard. I would be proud to display him on my mantle but he will be going in my ETSY shop, at least for now. I have a tendancy to fall in love with the things I paint and that makes it difficult to let go.
These two cuties were not all that great when I found them. She was wearing a red coat and he had on a really dark coat. Since I put up a snowman display every year and most are in pastels and several are snowmen angels, these two would be perfect but they stood out like a sore thumb - what to do?? Well, of course, re-paint them, dry brush here and there, add a little sparkle and now they are one of the family. I just love them.
So, don't be discouraged if you are on the hunt for that Santa in pink or the Snowman in lavender - if you can't find it, paint it!
