Welcome to Pink Saturday. Every week Miss Beverly of How Sweet The Sound hosts Pink Saturday - a chance for those who love pink to show off a special pink item. Please stop by for a visit.
If you have stopped by my blog before you know I love to paint. Normally, I am a little burned out after Christmas so it takes me a while to get back into my studio. The past few days I have been going through some old photo albums and it brought back some wonderful old memories of when my children were babies. I loved rocking them - even when the doctor's said you shouldn't rock babies to sleep - I was right there rocking away. I loved the way they felt when they snuggled their little heads against my neck with one hand on the other side holding on to my hair. I could stay that way for hours. Then along came my grandchildren. I was fortunate to get two at the same time - twin boys. I would rock both of them in the beginning but before you knew it they were too big. It wasn't long after that the little girls came along. What a special feeling - rocking and singing their own special songs - but I don't think I have a very good voice because they would say "Don't sing, yaya!" and then put their little hands over my mouth. So when I painted this little heart it reminded me of some of the best moments in my life.
I hope you all have a great weekend - with temps in the high 60's, it was so nice outside today we were able to sit in the swing and catch up with the neighborhood happenings. I just can't wait til spring.

Hi Brenda,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute story. I never had children, but I love them and hearing stories about everyone's kids when they were babies.
Just adore the pink heart. So pretty and soft. Have a wonderful weekend.

HPS Brenda...I love your story of rocking your little ones...me, too! The doctors don't know it all and all of ours and the grandbabies, too, are doing just fine and dandy. Maybe that is why they all seem to be so well adjusted???
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten how those little hands hold onto your hair...wasn't that just the best? I am so glad I treasured my babies and spoiled them with love. The same goes for my treasured grands...they too have been pampered and rocked and rocked and rocked.
How cute about "don't sing yaya." I am still giggling!
Your painting is so sweet...are you going to give it to one of your grandchildren?
Hugs,
Jil

Love your painted heart. Such a beautiful work of art as only your talented hands can do.
So great to see you and thank you for your kind words.
We are predicted for freezing rain and very cold temps on Tuesday. Guess what I'll be doing! LOL
Happy Painting my friend.
