Happy Pink Saturday

I can't believe it has been over a month since I last posted!!  My 2 1/2 year old computer died and I had to purchase a new one.  Now I am having to learn new programs and I am not particularly fond of new computer "stuff" so this has been a challenge.

Since I haven't participated in Pink Saturday for the longest time I thought I would share with you today one of my demitasse teacups.  This particular one is a favorite of my grand daughter Megan.  It is made in the USSR and all I can tell by the makers mark is that it is pre 1991.  It is small and very dainty.  Perfect for Miss "M".  She loves having her orange juice (sometimes decaf tea) in this sweet thing but what she loves most is being able to choose from my very large collection, a tea cup for the day.  She is so gentle with them and shows me the correct way to hold the cup - with the pinkie sticking out, of course.  She is so prissy and her favorite color is pink also.

Aren't these the cutest candle bobeches?  They are pink, of course, but they are not crystal or even glass.  I found these several years ago at the dollar store in several different colors - including lavendar which is so pretty (not so much the candle but it is the only short candle I had available).

Our garden has a lovely assortment of roses - my favorite being the pink and the lavender rose.  I cannot grow anything - but the hubs can and he especially likes the roses.  Yesterday I cut several of the sweetest smelling pink ladies and they now sit next to my place on the sofa - the smell just drifts across the room - not too much, just the right amount.  I painted this sweet little plaque to honor the first pink rose of the season.  I haven't painted in oils for some time now and I had forgotten what it feels like to have oil paint on your brush instead of acrylic - I just love it!!  Am I keeping it?  - No, I can't keep everything I paint so I am sharing it with you - and you can find it in my ETSY shop.

Lastly, I leave you with this quote and one of my favorite Easter Illustrations from the wonderful artist, Frances Brunday.  Have a Happy Easter, everyone.

"Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness."  ~Floyd W. Tomkins
